Question: What is BreatheIO all about?
BreatheIO is a Smart Air Purifier, that utilizes the power of Artificial Intelligence to reduce and control Air Pollution to give longevity to human life.
Question: Talk about the founding team and the ideation.
Muhammad Bilal is a post graduate in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from University of Texas Austin, also an author of Make me a Programmer: The Independent Entrepreneur. The ideation started in September 2019, to find a solution for the growing air pollution which is afftecting us on a global scale. Work at BreatheIO is based on the principles of chaos theory in which the butterfly effect states that small sensitive dependence on base conditions in which a minor or insignificant change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can eventually result in large differences. Therefore, small steps in our present can determine big changes in our future.
Question: What extra value do you add over your competition?
BreatheIO is made for the purpose of being affordable so that the majority of the people can benefit from its health benefits and as being an IoT (Internet of Things) startup, it can based on data make the environment predictable by monitoring the rate of change in between them.
Who is your ideal customer and what is your message for them?
Our ideal customers are those that aware of the change in the air pollution and its hazardous effects. My message to them is whether you buy my product or not, please stay health and be aware of what the environment is affecting you.
Are you planning to drive investment to scale BreatheIO?
BreatheIO is looking to raise $60,000 to scale up our production and create a distributor program for people in multiple countries.
We have active 100+ users who on an average use our systems for 2 hours a day with our customer acquisition cost at 1.13 USD per customer.
What are your short and long run goals for BreatheIO?
My short term goal is to scale up my production and meet the needs of my customers and my long run goal is to start my second product under BreatheIO which will be an artificial photosynthesis system for the home user.
The IoT environment is still growing and with the lack of people and organisation that can support early startups, it becomes costly to grow in such an environment which demotivates a lot of people to move forward, after all hardware comes at a cost. I find that in my case, I took a really unoptimized way of slowly growing up with regards to the limitations of the funds which has costed me time, therefore I think time is inversely proportional to funds. The more funds you have the less time is required to produce a product.
Question: Looking ahead, how do you see the growth of IoT that has been happening for a decade now? Will it still be THE next BIG thing?
According to statistica in 2019 the IoT market closed at 212 billion dollar and as for the present there are more than 200 billion devices online right now, looking at that fact by 2025 it will become a 1.6 trillion dollar market.
